To all of you who found this blog, whether led by a guiding hand (most likely my own), a curious click spurred from a random search, or a soon-to-be common case of mistaken identity (I may be an anime fan, but I can assure you that www.roy-san.blogspot.com is not in reference to Roy Mustang)...
Whoever you are, however you ended up here, and however long you intend to stay, I bid you welcome.
While I have had some blogging experience in a forum, I've decided to branch out and create my own blog. In this blog, you're going to find entries and subjects related to me and my interests.
And who am I? Well in a nutshell, I'm a 26 year old male who enjoys video games, anime, movies and books (and yes, I do count comics as "books"). I'm also a hopeless dreamer who yearns to take his work to a professional level.
It should be easy to identify the dreamer types; they're the ones who look up at the sky and wonder if someone or something is staring right back; they're the ones who wonder every minute how to express themselves; they're the ones who wonder if there is anything beyond black and white, night and die, life and death.
I was never content in merely dreaming, though. I've spent years wondering (and dreaming) how to share my dreams with the world; I've tried drawing, but never went past stick figures; I considered majoring in film, but decided it wasn't worth the time and money for a one-in-a-million shot; I even considered game design, but figured overtime hours and sleepless nights wasn't worth the effort of rendering an elf girl's breast physics that won't distract people from the shoddy quality of the finished product.
So that left just one option for me: the pen and paper (or rather the finger and keyboard). I gave writing a shot a few years back, during a yearly fiction contest held at my college campus. To this day, I cannot explain the sudden jolt of thunder, that spark of imagination, that jolted my brain the moment I heard about the contest. Suddenly I was compelled for the first time in my life to write up an original work of fiction (and if you're wondering how I did, I'll save that outcome for a later entry). Since then, I've been continuing to polish my writing skills (at least to the point that I can consider myself "skilled"), and the main purpose of this blog will be to share those stories, both new and old, with the rest of you.
But I'm not expecting you to go out of your way to read some no-name's amateur works; The only exchange I can offer is that I would be more than happy to read and review any stories or works in progress from the rest of you would-be dreamers. Even if nothing profitable came out of it, I would still love to establish a connection with the rest of you.
Well, there's not much more to say, except that if you stood by long enough to reach this, you've made me happier than you know.
I hope this becomes the start of something wonderful. I've planted the seeds, so why not stay with me and see how they grow...

I shall watch the plant with interest.
You want people to read your stories--I just want them to read my blog.
We've both accomplished each other's goals through the PA forums, but not our own. Doh!
Good luck, guy.
I've 'talked' a bit with you in the PA forums, and will be here watching to see just what your blog turns into. Best of luck!
Hey man what's up. I hope to get my blog up and running sooner or later, replace the old one, heh.
